Colin "Corky" Lovejoy

Colin “Corky” Lovejoy, 53, of Jacksonville, Florida, born 07/23/1958 went to his Heavenly home on 07/19/2012.

He was the son of the late Barbara Dunton Lovejoy and George Lovejoy.

He is survived by the love of his life for 37 years - his high school sweetheart, Debbie, his daughter, Melissa Ann Lovejoy, who he lovingly called “his little ray of sunshine”, his son, Army Sgt. Brian M. Lovejoy, who he was so proud of, his father, George Lovejoy, his brothers, Timmy (Debbie), Kevin, Thomas and Terence and sister Kelly, His brother in law Sean and sister in law Chrissy, and his brother in law Mike and sister in law Laura and several nieces and nephews and his loyal and much loved employee Chris Bowron who he thought of as another son. Corky was the much loved “pop pop” to Bella and her mom and dad, his “adopted” children Aliscia and Juan and his “best buddy” Damion and his mom Trisha, his other “adopted” daughter.

Corky served his Country in the US Navy for 9 years. He then became a contractor and business owner where he earned the love, respect and friendship of many clients, vendors and subs.

Corky was known for his love and undying devotion to his family and friends, his quick wit and sarcasm and sense of humor, strong work ethic and heart of gold.

He will be greatly missed by his family, many friends and his beloved dogs, Max, Sasha, Elsa, Harley and Macy.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at the Hospitality Inn at 7071 103rd Street immediately east of I-295 on Saturday 07/21/2012 starting at 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
