Alan R. Vanderhoef, 64, of Fruit Cove, FL, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 surrounded by family members at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Alan was a veteran of the United States Navy and served three tours of duty in the Vietnam War. Throughout most of his professional life, Alan served as a sales executive in the chemical industry. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Champions Club at Julington Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Gladys Vanderhoef and sister Margo (Raymond) Goodridge. He is survived by his wife Mary, son Chad (Amanda) Vanderhoef, daughter Kristen (Nick) Dudney, grandson Noah Vanderhoef, brother Leo (Cindy) Vanderhoef, sister Carolyn (Jerry) Homminga, an uncle, and several cousins, nieces and nephews, seven cats, long-time friend Tom Spencer, and many other golf partners.
