Obituary
Max Edwin Schafer, Sr., 89, of Jacksonville Beach, FL, born on
April 28, 1922 in Akron, OH, died on Thursday, February 23, 2012.
A veteran of WWII, he honorably served in the US Army. Later, he graduated from Pennsylvania State College of Optometry and had a long time practice in Jacksonville, FL. He was also an avid tennis player, world traveler, and collector.
He was preceded in death by his son, Sam Schafer. Survivors include his beloved wife, Norma Schafer; daughter Julie Marshall (Howard); son, Max Schafer, Jr. (Julie); 3 grandchildren: Joey Mercer, Jill and Olivia Schafer; and 2 sisters.
