IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Raymond Wyatt
Mccormick
August 28, 1913 – March 5, 2012
Raymond Wyatt McCormick, 98, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2012. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 72 years Audremae Smith McCormick.
Raymond is survived by his twin daughters Jeri McCormick and Joi Balsavage; two granddaughters Kelli Kamm (Steven Kamm, M.D.) and Ami McKinney (Dana McKinney); four great-grandchildren Elizabeth and A. J. Kamm, and Tori and Madi McKinney; his brother Chancey McCormick; niece Lynn Benson (Danny); and Jeri’s friend Sally Edwards whom he called his third daughter.
Born in Many, LA in 1913, he earned a degree from Louisiana Tech. He met Audremae in Monroe, LA where she worked as a hospital RN. His successful 48-year career in paper manufacturing took the couple from Louisiana to Georgetown, SC, Jacksonville, FL, Augusta, GA, New York City and Stamford, CT.
A highlight of Raymond’s life was playing golf at Augusta National and seeing President Eisenhower and his grandson David fishing on the course. Raymond was an avid Gators fan. He especially loved following the career of Tim Tebow. He was fascinated with hummingbirds, and also enjoyed reading biographies and working crossword puzzles. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Raymond and Audremae were charter members of Deermeadows Baptist Church.
