John Willis Graves, 86 of Jacksonville FL passed away
peacefully at his home on Jan 17, 2015 following an
extended illness. John W was born on Jan 18, 1928 to
Joe and Sallie Selph Graves in Coffee County GA
He moved to Jacksonville to raise his family in 1960.
John W was employed by the Duval County School Board for 20+ years when he retired in 1987. He enjoyed his family and friends, fishing and gardening. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend that will forever be remembered by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by all five brothers and five sisters. John W is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Purvis Graves of 68+ years, his daughter, Jacqueline G-Aides (Tommy), sons Willis L and Jerome Graves. Five grandchildren include Alex, Angi, Tammy, Jennifer and Christopher, eight great and three great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family will hold a celebration of life at the chapel located inside the Earl B Hadlow Center 4266 Sunbeam Road in Jacksonville FL 32257 on Friday, Jan 23, 2015 at 1:00 pm.
