Miss Kirksey E. Smith passed away October 23, 2015 while under the care of Regents Park Skilled Nursing Center in Jacksonville, FL. Kirksey was born August 6, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY to C. Wallace and Helen Lowe Smith, both of whom have predeceased her. She is survived by her brothers, W. Austin and Jared I. Smith (Jennifer), both of Neptune Beach, FL; cousins, Nancy Smith-Fichter (Robert) of Tallahassee, FL & Clayton, GA, George D. Lowe (Francie) of Lubbock, TX and Eula Lowe Irwin (Bob) of Jacksonville, FL; and her favorite niece, Shaleen T. McCormick (Alex) of Nashville, TN. She is also survived by her long time friends Joan Hutchinson of Neptune Beach, FL and Willie & Pearl Fortson of Clayton, GA.

Kirksey was raised in Neptune Beach, attending Atlantic Beach Elementary School and Duncan U. Fletcher Jr-Sr High School from which she graduated with the Class of 1955. Kirksey lived in Neptune Beach and later in Jacksonville Beach for most of her life but spent the last few years living at Deerwood Place and Regents Park until her death.

There will be a private family service in Clayton, GA at an undetermined future time where she will be laid to rest with her parents and her beloved aunt Esther C. Smith.
