C. David Myers, Jr., 90, passed away on July 2, 2016 following a heroic battle with cancer. He leaves behind his beloved wife Danna; children, Lynette Matyi, Kathy Walsh (John), David Myers (Claire), Amanda Myers Goerg (Frank), and James Roering (son by choice), 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, brother Jack Myers of Dallas, and several nieces and nephews.

Dave was born in Nebraska in 1925 to C.D. Myers, Sr. and Enola (Honey) Myers. Dave was predeceased by his parents, sister Marilyn Lemex, and grandson Carl Matyi. After graduating high school, he joined the Merchant Marines during W.W. II and sailed to many foreign ports. Following the Merchant Marines, he joined Simmons Bedding Company and retired after 47 years.

A celebration of life will be held at Unity Church of Jacksonville on Thursday, July 7th at 2pm. Reception to follow in Grinson Hall.
