Irene Elizabeth Walker Peacock was born in Pensacola FL to William H. Walker and Daisy Maye Thompson Walker while her father was serving in the Army. She was raised in Concord NC. She moved to Jacksonville in 1925, where she met her husband George. They lived in Jacksonville the rest of their lives where they raised four children. Irene was 96 when she died.
She was preceded in death by her husband George W. Peacock Jr, her sister Dorothy Shaw, her brother William H. Walker Jr and her daughter Barbara Wehby. She is survived by her children Rebecca Welty, George Peacock III and John Peacock. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
