Alfred James Parrinello

Alfred James Parrinello, 78, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2009 with his loving family by his side. He was born to the late James and Elena Parrinello on October 27, 1931. Alfred graduated from Boy’s High School in Brooklyn, New York and received a BA from St. John’s University in 1960. Alfred served in the US Navy as a pilot during the Korean War, primarily on the USS Tarawa and the USS Enterprise. Alfred was an executive with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service agency of the US Department of Defense for over 27 years, serving on US bases stateside and overseas, including those in Germany, Turkey, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Korea, and the Marshall Islands, as well as in New York, Texas, Georgia, and Hawaii. Alfred continued his life of service into retirement with the International Executive Service Corps in Kyrgyzstan.

He married Diana Parrinello in 1975, and they lived together in Thailand, the Philippines, Hawaii, Korea, and the Marshall Islands before relocating to Florida in 1993.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Elena Parrinello, his brothers, Michael Parrinello and Victor Parrinello, and his son, Michael Joseph Parrinello.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Parrinello; his sister, Beatrice Mazzara; his children, Stephan Parrinello of Columbus, Georgia; Eric and Kristi Parrinello of Olathe, Kansas; Michel DeWeese of Rockvale, Tennessee; Frank Livesay of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Cristina Parrinello Trahan and Ryan Trahan of Los Angeles, California; Christopher Parrinello of Gainesville, Florida; 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of other beloved family and friends.

Father Lawrence Mulinda will officiate a memorial mass on Saturday, December 5, 2009, at 11am, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9800 Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
