Jean Carol Cummings, 71, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2010 after a year long battle with cancer. She was born on June 30, 1939 in Bertha, MN to parents Donald and Mildred Peterson. Mema, as she was known to everyone, loved watching baseball and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her son, John Cummings of Jacksonville, FL; Christine Cummings Silvas of Jacksonville, FL; Janeen Cummings Grondahl of Candler, NC; brother, Donald Peterson of Woodberry, MN; sister, Vera Twardowski of Long Prairie, MN; sister, Donna Vonder Haar of Little Falls, MN; sister, Susan Mortenson of Aloha, OR; sister, Karen Rainey of Conway, AR; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm Friday, September 24, 2010 at Mandarin Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL. Reception for family and friends to follow.
