Lana Cheryl Woody, 66, of Callahan, FL passed away on November 12, 2010 after a short battle with Lung Cancer. She served 3 years in the U. S. Army; retired from the U.S. Dept. of HUD; was a member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church; Callahan Chapter of the Order of Confederate Rose; and West Nassau Genealogical Society. She enjoyed camping, sewing and quilting. Preceded in death by husband, George Woody, Jr; parents, Florence (Wailon) Harrell and Howard Bailey; and grandmother, Ella Higginbotham. Survived by daughters, Dena (Gary) Pate and Karen Bovia Miller; and grandchildren, Joshua and Heather Pate and Desiree Miller. A graveside Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 20th at Jones Cemetery in Callahan, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Hospice of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32257.
