Barbara Sloan Shealey

Barbara Sloan Shealey, 72, of Yulee, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at her daughter’s home surrounded with her family after a lengthy illness. She was born May 3, 1938 in Honolulu, Hawaii, the daughter of the late Stella Margaret Toomey and Deward Vernon Sloan. She was the baby of her family, being predeceased by her brother Vernon in 2005. She was a 1956 graduate of Fernandina Beach High School and retired after 40 years with Rayonier. She was a member of the United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She married the love of her life in 1959, Richard N. Shealey, Sr. who passed before her in 1992. Barbara is survived by her three children, daughter and son-in-law Kim and Tony Brown of Fernandina Beach, her sons Richard and Bill Shealey and a grandson Jordan all of Yulee.
