Obituary

Barbara Dorothee Stadtmuller, a kind, fiercely independent, and nurturing mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Saturday, November 1, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida.

Barbara was the daughter of the late Paul and Hedwig Geistert. She was born on April 24, 1937, in Schweidnitz, Germany. In 1962, she bravely embarked on a new chapter, leaving Germany for the vibrant life of New York City. It was there she met the love of her life, Marton Stadtmuller, and they were married on September 19, 1965.

The couple raised their two daughters, Andrea and Annette, during their 15 years in New York City before moving the family to the scenic beauty of Chesterfield, New Hampshire, where Barbara created a loving home for many years. She later moved to Jacksonville, Florida, in 2019 to be near her daughter Annette and her beloved grandchildren.

A dedicated homemaker, Barbara found deep joy in creating a warm environment for all who entered her life. She was an exceptional cook, delighting her family and friends with wonderful meals. Her passion for gardening brought color and life to her home throughout the years. She was always there ready and willing to help her daughters, from sewing projects to caring for her grandchildren. She gave so much to her family and to those who knew and loved her.

Barbara's memory will be cherished by her loving family: her daughter, Annette Boender, and her son-in-law Ted Boender, of Jacksonville, FL; her grandchildren, Claire, Amelia, and Teddy; her grandson, Rowan Moore, of Keene NH; and her sister, Maria Wolf, of New Hyde Park New York.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 45 years, Marton Stadtmuller, her beloved daughter, Andrea S. Moore, and her sister, Lucy Aweh.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Barbara's memory to Community Hospice and Palliative Care, Jacksonville, FL, the organization that provided comfort and support in her final day. Donations can be made online by clicking here.
