Betty Ann Tomlinson, a beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend, passed peacefully away on January 16, 2026.
She was born in Chattanooga, TN on October 23, 1943 to the late Robert Crain and Carolyn Keyes Crain.
Betty Ann had a passion for life and people. She enjoyed meeting people and loved the beach and spent many summers at her favorite beach in St. Augustine, FL.
A resident of Jacksonville, FL for most of her life she was engaged in numerous service organizations volunteering with the PTA, Title 1 Reading Program, Girl Scouts, the Salvation Army as a bell ringer, and The American Cancer Society Relay for Life. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years and had a deep passion for helping others.
Betty Ann graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and attended St. John’s Community College in Palatka.
She worked and volunteered for many years at Oak Crest Methodist Church Daycare Center.
Betty Ann never met a stranger and was always open to a new adventure or a quick road trip.
Betty Ann is survived by her husband of 55 years Darus “Tom” Tomlinson and her two daughters, Keri (Alan) and Kathryn “Katy”, three grandchildren, her sister, Carolyn “Cricket” Foley and her nieces and great nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Community Hospice and Palliative Care of Jacksonville, FL or to the Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
