Carlos Dwight Lauderdale, 77, passed away on July 6, 2026, at his home in Atlantic Beach, Florida. He was born on January 17, 1949, in Limestone County, Alabama, to Carl and Virginia Lauderdale.

He joined the United States Navy in 1968 and retired as a CWO4 Officer in 1991.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Lauderdale; daughter Carrie James (Gary); two grandchildren, Katelyn James and Gary James Jr., all of Atlantic Beach, Florida; one brother, Stanley Lauderdale (Janie) of Elkmont, Alabama; one sister-in-law, Libby Lauderdale of Waynesboro, Tennessee; one brother-in-law, Curtis Powers of Elkmont, Alabama; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kenneth Lauderdale; his sister, Annette Powers; and his brother, Steve Lauderdale.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Jacksonville, Florida.
