Obituary

David Andrew Mednick, 60, passed away on January 1, 2026. He was born to Marvin and Renee Mednick on September 23, 1965, in the Bronx, NY.

He moved with his family at age 12 to Savannah, GA. He attended Windsor Forest High School and graduated in 1983. He attended DeVry Institute of Technology then Armstrong State College. David excelled in Math and Computer Science from an early age that would later influence his career.

David joined the Georgia Air National Guard in 1985 until 1990. He started his career in the beginning of the cell phone industry as technical support of cell phone towers. The industry led him to many different jobs in many different states over the years. He then began working as a software engineer which eventually enabled him to work remotely. He then settled in Jacksonville, FL, to be near his children and grandchildren.

David loved working on computers and problem solving. Before the internet he had a BBS (Bulletin Board System) at home which was a network with others that connected with their computers over the phone lines. Sounds of a modem over the phone could be heard at all hours of the night. He was also an avid fan of the Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. He was a member of the Challenger Group of Jacksonville, FL, a community of people with a passion for their Dodge Challengers. Of course, David loved his car and loved showing it off to others.

David leaves behind his loving mother Renee Mednick, 4 children Andrew Mednick, Alan Mednick, Alyssa Mednick and Evan Kloda; 5 grandchildren Arya Dunn, Ezra Dunn, Callum Shields, Skylar Mednick and one granddaughter that will arrive soon. He also leaves behind his brother Dr. Brandon Mednick and sister Cynthia Crosby, nephews Ian Mednick and Jordan Crosby and niece Amber Crosby, along with numerous Uncles, Aunts and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Marvin Mednick and Grandmother “Little Grandma” Lillian Wienberg.

The family wishes to have a private memorial service.
