Delano was born on January 15, 1956, in Jacksonville, FL.
Delano is preceded in death by his mother Gretrude Dukes Falana, his father Leon Dukes, and his brothers Milton, Rodney, Henry, David, James, Lonnie, and Lavant Dukes.
He is survived by his two brothers Gress Dukes & Warren Dukes, his sister Pauline Davis, and his stepsister Sharon Youngblood.
