Dennis John Lawrence , 63 years old, from St. Johns, Florida, passed away August 12, 2018. Born to Noble and Lucille Lawrence, in Charleston, IL on February 26, 1955. Graduated from Effingham High School in Effingham, Illinois, in 1973. Worked as a service representative for railroad maintenance equipment. Married to Cindy Haley in 1978. Dennis attended Creekside Christian Church in St. Johns, FL. He enjoyed fishing, golf, outdoor sports, and was a high master high power rifle shooter. He will be remembered for his love of animals, his willingness to help others, and for trying to do his best at whatever he pursued. Preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Survived by Cindy, his wife of almost 40 years, his son Andrew of Green Cove Springs, his son Chris of Jacksonville, sisters Vicki Takahashi and Julie Riehm, and brother Thomas Lawrence, granddaughter Skylar Covington along with her family John, Donna and Tyler Covington and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be August 23, 2018, 11 am, Creekside Christian Church, 92 Lifespring Way, St. Johns, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Creekside Christian Church Building Fund in memory of Dennis Lawrence.
