Born on February 29, 1940, Betty was an Austrian Gottscheer born in Yugoslavia (now Slovenia). At the age of ten, she immigrated to the United States with her family, where she developed a love for our country and what it stood for. While embracing her American life, she remained deeply connected to her Austrian heritage, especially through music.

It was this love of music that brought Betty together with her husband, Denny, in her late twenties. Together, they built a warm and loving home, centered on family and shared traditions. Denny preceded her in death, and Betty now joins him, reunited once more.

Betty’s greatest joy was her role as Oma to her cherished grandchildren, Gianna and Elizabeth, who filled her life with pride and happiness. She is survived by her daughters, Susanne and Andrea, and her grandchildren.

In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held and flowers are respectfully declined. Those who wish to honor Betty’s memory are encouraged to donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to her heart. Throughout her life, Betty quietly supported children facing cancer, and it brings comfort to know her legacy will continue through the lives helped in her name.

Betty will be remembered for her warmth, quick wit, and engaging spirit. She lived life with a simple goal—to make at least one person laugh every day—and in doing so, she left the world a little brighter.
