Skip was born on February 2, 1942, and passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026, in Community Hospice at Baptist Hospital. He attended Englewood High School, graduating in the first graduating class. He also attended JU for a short time. Skip joined the Air Force in 1963 and on returning started with the Florida Air Guard.

Skip began his career at Duval Motors on Forsyth and Lee in 1964. He stayed with the Scott-McRae Group for 44 years in many roles. Cashier, credit manager, service manager at Duval Ford, then to Duval Honda as service manager. From there he went to corporate until his retirement. He valued his employees and customers. He was firm but fair with everyone. He especially loved Auto Racing of every kind.

He was a true patriot. He studied WWII extensively and built model planes, tanks and ships from that era. His first hobby love was trains, and in later years he loved going to Folkston, Ga. to watch trains at the Funnel. A true animal lover and advocate, Skip had dogs but mostly loved his 2 cats Tuffy and Sweetie.

One of his greatest joys was his granddaughter, Kylie, whom he helped raise. His step-granddaughter, Karen, brought the family much joy also. The love of his life, Lynn, cared for him in his declining years until he went to be with his Savior. He loved God, Country and family. He had many sayings and quotes. Just remember Kylie and Karen if you need him look over your shoulder and he will be there.

Skip is predeceased by his beloved grandparents E.G. Breedlove, Sr., his dad E.G. Breedlove, Jr., mother Iris R. Breedlove, and brother Robert C. Breedlove.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lynn Grinnell Breedlove, his two sons, E.G. Breedlove IV and Philip Gage Breedlove, and his granddaughters Kylie Breedlove-Jordan and Karen Nauth (Kevin Hills). He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Gaye Acree (Charlie), Lauren Regas, and Elaine Breedlove, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Skip will be cremated and his ashes buried at the Jacksonville Memory Gardens on October 22, 2026, at 11:00 am with Pastor Josh Hinson of Ortega Presbyterian Church officiating.
