Our beloved Frederick “Arthur” Barthlow was called to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at his home in Middleburg, Florida. He went peacefully in his sleep.

Arthur was born in Green Cove Springs, Florida to Lois Evelyn McLean Barthlow and Frederick William Barthlow on May 8, 1946. After graduating from Orange Park High School, he attended Central Florida Junior College on a baseball scholarship where he received an Associates in Arts Degree.

He worked as an ICC-designated Master Code Professional and owned his own company; Codes-ABC and Inspections-ABC, and demonstrated exemplary commitment to the field of building code compliance. He learned valuable lessons as a 10 year governor-appointed plans examiner representative on the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board.

Arthur was a member of South Middleburg Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing with his wife of 56 years, Zora Paige Johnson Barthlow.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter Ashley Paige Barthlow Gaskins (Steve), son Frederick Thomas Barthlow (Destiny), six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way.

Arthur will be remembered for helping an untold many with obtaining and building their careers and establishing their reputations. He always strived to better himself and others.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held for Arthur on January 31, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Middleburg. Visitation will begin at 10:00am and the service will begin at 11:00am with Reverend Delton Kilpatrick officiating.
