Geraldine L. Ekstrom, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida.

Born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Bridgeview with her sister Bernadine, Gerry attended Argo High School. Gerry married her high school sweetheart, John Ekstrom, and they enjoyed sixty-nine years of marriage. Gerry and John raised their family in Darien, Illinois and retired in Stuart, Florida.

Gerry was the proud mother of Donna, Ellen (Gary), Edward (Nancy), Jack (Chris) and Gail, the cherished grandmother of Garrett (Faran), Zach, Chase (Kennedy), Anne (Michael), Ashley (Alex), Erik (Marianna), Craig (Samantha), Morgan, Eve, Melanie (Andrew), Parker and Tabitha, the proud great-grandmother of Adrienne.

Geraldine now joins her parents Catherine and Lawrence Daily in eternal rest.

Gerry spent her life caring for those she loved, always putting her family first. Her greatest joy was found in the warmth of her home, where her hands were always busy and her heart always full. Gerry had a passion for sewing and crafts, transforming fabric and thread into works of love. Gerry enjoyed creating blankets, Halloween costumes, prom dresses and handmade gifts for her family and friends. Gerry poured her soul into every detail. Her talent wasn’t just in the beauty of her creations, each piece a testament to her care and creativity.

Gerry was the center of her family’s world, a guiding light who made even the simplest days special. Her laughter filled the home, her wisdom shaped generations, and her love never wavered. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched, she will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The family will be celebrating Gerry’s life at a private gathering.
