Gregory “Greg” George Walski, 66, passed away on May 7, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida after a battle with cancer. Born on August 11, 1958, in Great Lakes, Illinois, Greg lived a life filled with laughter, stories, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that brought people together.
Greg was the beloved son of Angeline Walski and the late Edward Walski. He shared many fond memories with his sisters, Cathy Tison (Jim) and Marnie Walski. Father to daughter Meredith Walski and son Stuart Walski. His former wife Susan Walski remained a constant presence in his life as both a caregiver and friend. Greg remained close to his extended family, including many nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Greg had a gift for storytelling and an infectious laugh that could light up any room. He found joy in gathering with loved ones over meals he prepared himself-cooking was one of his favorite ways to show love. Whether it was a 4th of July barbecue or a hearty home-cooked dinner, Greg's kitchen was always open to friends and family. He was also a fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Despite their ups and downs on the field, Greg remained loyal to his team, often watching games with equal parts hope and disappointment. When not cheering from the sidelines or sharing stories around the table, Greg could often be found riding his Harley Davidson with his friends who were like brothers.
Greg was preceded in death by his father Edward Walski, uncles Bill Sficos and Jim Sficos. His Aunt Grace Reece and Aunt Alice Walski.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 11am at St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church in the banquet hall.
May Greg rest in peace, knowing he will be forever remembered by those who loved him.
