James R. Sweany, 80, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on April 3, 2024. James was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served in the Submarine Service. After this, he worked as a revenue agent in the U.S. Treasury. During his life he was associated with the American Legion Post 316 and the United States Submarine Veterans. James was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mamie. He is survived by his brother Bill. There will be a memorial service for James at 12:00pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the American Legion Post 316. Veteran groups will be attending and leading the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Legion Boys State Program.
