Jean K. Pfister of Jacksonville, 92 years old, passed away September 1, 2025. Born to Clara Arneta Radford, October 2, 1932, in Hackensack, NJ. Jean graduated from Pitcairn PA High School in 1950. He joined the PA National Guard when he was 16 years old. In 1951 he was called to active duty.
After serving two tours in both Korea and Vietnam, and 24 years of service, he retired as Lt. Col J.K Pfister. Having retired in Michigan he had a second career with Chrysler Defense which sold to General Dynamics where he worked until retiring at the age of 55. From there he and his wife Doris moved to Jacksonville FL where he began his third “career” as a retiree enjoying his most loved sport of golf and cruising the world in his spare time with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Doris of 73 years, his son Steve (Lisa), daughter Cindy and granddaughter Jessica. He will be deeply missed. He was a wonderful caring father, husband and friend to all with a big smile and bright blue eyes.
A celebration of life will be held at the Mandarin Methodist Church, November, 1st at 11AM with an onsite gathering immediately following the service.
Jean will be laid to rest Friday October 31st with full military honors at 1:30PM at Jacksonville National Military Cemetery. (4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville FL) For parking please park in Lane 3.
