It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeffrey “Jeff” Mason Olive, who went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2025, at the age of 55.
Jeff was born on April 13, 1970, in Jacksonville, FL and was a resident of Jacksonville most of his life. He was a cherished son, loyal brother and a dear friend to so many. Jeff was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and his kind heart. But most of all, we will remember him for his big smile and his infectious laugh.
Jeff graduated from Robert E. Lee high school in 1988. He was a die-hard Florida Gators fan through and through. Jeff lived for the Gators football, baseball, and softball seasons. Saturdays in the fall were sacred, and Jeff never missed the chance to don his Orange and Blue. He also stood by the Jacksonville Jaguars through every high and low, never losing faith in his team. Sports weren’t just a hobby to Jeff, they were his passion, a bond that he shared with friends and family.
He is survived by his father Bill Olive, his mother Janie Earle (Neil), and his sisters Lori Olive Beechuk (Steve) & Leslie Olive. Jeff is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Mason & Virginia Olive, maternal grandparents Landry & Aliff Wintz, maternal aunt Winnie Beasley, and his brother-in-law Brian J. Beechuk.
Though he is no longer with us in the stands or on the couch yelling at the screen, we know he is watching the games from above, still cheering and proud.
Go Gators. Go Jags. Rest easy, Jeff. You will always be part of the team. We love and miss you dearly.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11am on August 16, 2025, at Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
