Jeffrey J. Terry, Sr., age 70, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the beloved son of Mattie Ruth Terry and the late Willie J. Terry.

A Jacksonville resident since 1987, Jeff was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Milagros “Millie” Terry, and his children: Samiah Terry Dixon (Roger), Tainese Terry Middlebrooks (Dwayne), Jeffrey Jay Terry, Jr. (Marlena), Whitney Mikal Shorts (Stefon), Jarred Anthony Terry (Shessley), Vanessa Garcia, Anthony Garcia, and Jessica Garcia Lutton (Clayton).

He is also survived by his mother, Mattie Ruth Terry, and his siblings: Ruby Joyce Wilcox, Judy Ann Terry, Sandra Terry Tutt (Willie), David Terry (Mary), Wallace Terry (Janice), Lisa Terry Lewis-Fears, and Celena Terry Matlock (George). He leaves behind many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Jeff had a joyful spirit, a sharp sense of humor, and a deep love for life’s simple pleasures. A lifelong football fan and former star athlete, he followed the game passionately and loved sharing stories from his days on the field. He enjoyed grilling, dancing, early mornings at the beach, and good home-cooked meals—especially when shared with family. Jeff had a way of making everyone feel welcome and uplifted.

Professionally, Jeff was a skilled truck driver and successful entrepreneur, running several businesses before retiring. Baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1976, he faithfully served for 49 years, including as an elder in multiple congregations. He considered his Christian ministry his true vocation, and this was evident in the way he lived his life with faith with purpose, love, and conviction.

Jeff will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, generosity, and unwavering devotion to both faith and family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the love he gave so freely.

A Memorial Service will be held in Jeff's honor on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Fort Caroline Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. 9358 Fort Caroline Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32225.
