Julie Pilla Schumann, age 57, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, at her home in Ponte Vedra, Florida. She was a cherished mother, beloved sister, and wonderful friend.

Born on May 16, 1968, in North Tarrytown, New York, Julie was the daughter of Kathleen “Pinky” and Edmund Pilla. She moved to Boulder, Colorado, to attend the University of Colorado and later pursued her postgraduate education at Mercy College in New York, where she became a dedicated physical therapist. Julie was passionate about helping others and took great pride in making a positive impact on their lives.

Living by her mantra of finding happiness in everyday moments, Julie embodied this spirit even when faced with a life-altering cancer diagnosis. Through her struggles, she remained committed to spreading joy to those around her, ensuring that everyone in her life felt loved and cared for. Julie had a profound love for live music and treasured the time spent with her family and friends.

Julie is survived by her son, Casey, her daughter, Courtney, her sisters Kathleen and Susan, and her father, Edmund. She will be remembered for her radiant smile, the warmth of her kindness, and the light she brought into the lives of others.

A celebration of her life will be held at a future date in Colorado, where friends and family can gather in her honor.
