Linda Makowski, 63, passed away 10/16/26 in Jacksonville Florida. 

Born to Paul Makowski and Patricia Bridge in Latrobe, PA she Graduated from Greece - Olympia High School in Rochester, NY before enlisting in the United States Army, where she met her Husband of 36 Years, Jeffery Shaw. 

Together they had two sons, Derek and Christopher Shaw, before moving to Jacksonville in 1987. She worked for nearly 17 years as a secretary for Harvest Baptist Church in Arlington where she also was a faithful member. She was fond of knitting, often crafting blankets for babies in the church and the less fortunate. She also enjoyed reading and could often be found spending her free time with a hot cup of tea and an old book. 

She will be remembered as someone who always gave with love to those around her, even when she herself had little. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul and her mother, Patricia. 

She is survived by her sons, Derek (Medina, NY) Christopher (Jacksonville, FL ) and her brothers Brian Makowski (Hulberton, NY ) and Paul Makowski (Rochester, NY ) 

Memorial Service to be held at Terry Parker Baptist Church, Located at 7024 Merrill Rd Jacksonville, Fl 32277 on November 14th at 11:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jacksonville Humane Society in Linda’s name as she was a big supporter of rescue pets.
