It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we remember Lisa Ann Hendrickson, who passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, at the age of 65, surrounded by the family in whom she cherished. Lisa’s life was full of love, strength, and unwavering devotion. She was not only a daughter, sister, wife, mother, or nanny, but a friend to everyone she met. She embraced each of these roles wholeheartedly with boundless love.
Born on August 25, 1959, in Eufaula, Alabama, to Bernice West and Franklin Hatfield, Lisa grew up with a strong sense of family and a passion for life. She graduated from Sandalwood High in Jacksonville, Florida, and went on to have a career that spanned more than 45 years. Lisa was fortunate to find her second family at Bag A Nut, where she worked with dedication and formed lasting bonds.
Her faith and love for her family were her guiding lights. But above all else, it was her family that brought her the greatest joy. Lisa was the rock of her family—always ready with open arms, an encouraging word, and a listening ear. Whether sitting in her yard after a long day of work or planning family gatherings, Lisa’s love for her children and grandchildren was evident to all who knew her.
Her strength, especially in the face of cancer, was truly inspiring. Lisa fought with grace, dignity, and courage. She never lost her ability to smile, even in the most challenging times, and her love for her family kept her grounded.
Lisa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles William Hendrickson, her daughter Nichole Hendrickson Votaw, her parents, and her sister, Billy Joe. Her spirit lives on through her children: daughter Stephanie Horne and son-in-law Michael, son Michael Shon, and her 12 grandchildren, who brought her endless joy—Hannah, Kyleigh, Brittany, Michael Horne, Ashlee, Alyssa, Michael, Tristen, and Mason Hendrickson, Alexis, Abei, and Angelina Votaw, as well as her siblings, Tweedy, Peggy, Lydia, and Allen.
As we remember Lisa today, we honor a life full of love, laughter, and grace. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, kindness, and strength. We will have a Celebration of Life service in reverberance of the impact she has left on each of our lives in the near future
