Mary J. Byers passed away peacefully at Haven Hospice in Middleburg, FL on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the age of 78.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Jim Byers Jr., the loving daughter of the late Stan & Emilia Sikorski, and cherished sister of the late George Sikorski (Pauline) & John Sikorski (Iwona).

She was the loving mother of Lucy A. Duby and cherished grandmother of Lancelot & Brooklynn Duby. She was the beloved sister of Henry Sikorski (Ruth) & Halina Peltonen (Timo). She was the proud aunt of many nieces and nephews.

We gratefully thank Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside hospital and Haven Hospice in Middleburg, FL for their care of Mary.

Saint Luke’s Church was a special place where Mary met new friends who welcomed her into their community. CSX Dispatchers Wives Club was a huge part of Mary’s social life. The Nimble Needles Group of Middleburg appreciated the numerous crocheted lap afghans Mary made with love in every stitch. Mary and her friends loved to gather and play bingo.

A small, private service was held in Mary’s honor. We would like to thank Hatcher Cremations in Jacksonville, FL for their assistance with Mary’s arrangements.
