Norma Genia Silas, 80, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, in Saint Johns, Florida. Born on July 28, 1944, in Effingham, Illinois, she lived a life marked by devotion to her family and unwavering support as a military wife for over three decades.

Norma was the beloved wife of John William Silas. Together, they built a strong and enduring partnership that spanned many years and weathered the unique challenges of military life. As a military wife for 30 years, Norma provided steadfast support through countless relocations and transitions, serving as the heart of her family during times of both change and stability.

She was a devoted mother to five children: Tamara J. McAbee, Myron D. Hill, Jennifer M. Silas, Christopher H. Silas, and the late David A. Hill. Norma’s role as a mother was central to her identity—she was the hub of the family, offering love, guidance, and strength to those around her.
