February 25, 1940 — April 29, 2025

Jacksonville Beach

Phyllis G Zoll of Jacksonville, Florida; previous resident of Springfield, Illinois, went to rest peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Douglas Center for Caring located in Jacksonville, FL. Born February 25, 1940, to Frank and Edith Marmion, of Bartonville, Illinois. Her parents, daughter Kathy Lynn Zoll, and brother John (Jack) Marmion, preceded her in death.

Phyllis graduated from Limestone High School in Peoria, Illinois, and held an Associates in Arts from Lincoln Land Community College, Springfield, Illinois. She loved attending church services as a member of Bissell United Methodist, volunteering in her community, was a talented artist winning blue ribbons in local art events and Illinois State Fair entries. She was a Homemaker, enjoyed sewing, painting, drawing and spending time with family, friends, and her grandchildren. Phyllis was a member of the Springfield Sewing Guild, The American Legion Post 32 where she served as President of the Women's Auxiliary, and a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Phyllis is survived by two sons Kevin J (Cathy) Zoll of Depauville, NY, and Gregory A Zoll of St. Louis, MO, and daughter Vanessa M Zoll of Troy, MO, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson; several nieces and nephews and sister Carolyn Meece.

She will be missed for her feistiness, frequently sticking her tongue out at us, offering her purse chocolate to us, her love for dancing, amazing artistic talents, always putting her hand cream on, and not going anywhere without her lipstick.

A graveside service will be held in near future at Pottstown Cemetery in Pottstown, IL. Family and friends are invited to attend. Details to be updated here on this website when arrangements are finalized.

In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to make memorial contributions to a charity of your choice.
