Con profundo pesar anunciamos el fallecimiento de Ramona Montes, amada esposa, madre, abuela, bisabuela y amiga, quien partió de esta vida en paz el día 24 de agosto de 2025, a la edad de 80 años, rodeada del amor de sus seres queridos.

Fiel sierva de Jehová, Ramona—conocida cariñosamente por su familia como “Musa”—nació el 18 de septiembre de 1944 en Caguas, Puerto Rico. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Domingo Montañez y Ramona Ramírez, su hermana Emily Montañez, y su hermano Lorenzo Montañez. Le sobreviven sus hermanos: Manuel “Pipo” Montañez, Gloria Aparicio y Gilberto Montañez.

Ramona compartió 58 años de feliz matrimonio con su primer y gran amor, Ramón Montes, de Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. Juntos formaron una hermosa familia con sus queridos hijos: Milagros “Millie” Terry (Jeff), Ramón “Junito” Montes Jr. (Verónica) y Ramón “Pito” Montañez.

También le sobreviven sus nietos: Vanessa García, Anthony García, Jessica García Lutton (Clayton), Brianna Montes McMaster (Colin), Antonio Montañez y Ruby Montañez, así como sus bisnietos: Damarcus Manns, Grayson McMaster, Piper McMaster y Emberlynn Lutton. Ramona deja atrás decenas de sobrinos, primos y muchos familiares extendidos que la amaban profundamente.

Para su familia espiritual, Ramona era conocida como “Ramonita.” Fue bautizada como testigo de Jehová en abril 1985 y dedicó los últimos 40 años de su vida a su fe. Sentía gran gozo al predicar y enseñar a otros sobre Jehová y las promesas que se encuentran en la Biblia. Siempre fue un apoyo para los demás y estaba dispuesta a ayudar a quien lo necesitara.

Nuestra querida Musa/Ramonita tenía un espíritu alegre y un corazón lleno de amor. Iluminaba cualquier lugar con su sonrisa y su cálida personalidad. Será recordada por su amor al baile, la música, la alegría, los buenos ratos, así como por su pasión por la cocina, la limpieza, su familia y, sobre todo, su profundo amor por Jehová.

El servicio en memoria de Ramona “Ramonita” Montes se llevará a cabo el día sábado 20 de septiembre de 2025, a las 2:00 p.m. en el Salón del Reino de los Testigos de Jehová, ubicado en:

In Loving Memory of Ramona Montes

With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Ramona Montes, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who departed this life peacefully on August 24, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by loved ones.

A faithful servant of Jehovah, Ramona—affectionately known by her family as “Musa”—was born on September 18, 1944, in Caguas, Puerto Rico. She was preceded in death by her parents, Domingo Montañez and Ramona Ramírez, her sister Emily Montañez, and her brother Lorenzo Montañez. She is survived by her siblings: Manuel “Pipo” Montañez, Gloria Aparicio, and Gilberto Montañez.

Ramona shared 58 loving years of marriage with her first and greatest love, Ramon Montes of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. Together they built a beautiful family, including their cherished children: Milagros “Millie” Terry (Jeff), Ramon "Junito" Montes Jr. (Verónica), and Ramon "Pito" Montañez.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Vanessa Garcia, Anthony Garcia, Jessica Garcia Lutton (Clayton), Brianna Montes McMaster (Colin), Antonio Montañez, and Ruby Montañez, as well as four great-grandchildren: Damarcus Manns, Grayson McMaster, Piper McMaster, and Emberlynn Lutton. Ramona leaves behind dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins, and an extended family who loved her dearly.

To her spiritual family, Ramona was known as “Ramonita.” Baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in April 1985, she devoted the last 40 years of her life to her faith. She found great joy in preaching and teaching others about Jehovah and the Bible’s promises. She was a source of encouragement and was always ready to help anyone in need.

Our beloved Musa/Ramonita had a joyful spirit and a heart full of love. She lit up every room with her smile and warm personality. She will be remembered for her love of dancing, music, laughter, and good times, as well as her passion for cooking, cleaning, family, and her deep love for Jehovah.

A memorial service in honor of Ramona “Ramonita” Montes will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at:

She will be missed beyond words, but her legacy of love, faith, and joy will continue to live on in all who knew her.
