Obituary

Randy Vaupel, age 59, sadly passed away suddenly on April 23, 2026. He was born in Decatur, Illinois, on October 17, 1966, the youngest son of three boys born to Richard and Gloria Vaupel.

As a child, Randy was always VERY Creative (it seems almost right from birth!) Randy was a quiet and unique individual; Well, quiet until you got to know him. He had a quirky sense of humor and loved to laugh. He graduated from Andress High School in 1985. He worked hard at his local grocery and was loved by all his coworkers. Randy was an artist at heart. He was born to draw and created various types of art using different mediums. He especially loved singing karaoke with his friends and family. He also had a deep love for animals of all kinds. He will be remembered for his kind and easy-going nature.

Randy was preceded in death by his father Richard Vaupel. He is survived by his mother Gloria Vaupel, his two brothers Robert and Ronald Vaupel (wife, Rhonda), his two sisters Lisa and Julie Vaupel, along with many nieces and nephews. And last, but not least, Randy’s biological daughter Tasha and two beautiful grandchildren (who he was so VERY proud of).

The Vaupel family had a private gathering celebrating Randy’s life. Randy will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Indeed, the world would be a better place with him in it.
