Robert R. Logston Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida.
He was born on March 29, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Betty Sullivan and Robert Logston Sr.
Robert was married to Sandra Bailey, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage.
He proudly served in the United States Navy for six years before being honorably discharged. After his service, he built a successful career in telecommunications sales, where he earned the respect and admiration of both colleagues and clients alike.
Outside of his professional life, Robert was known for his love of card games, his enjoyment of fine cigars, and his deep passion for history. A self-taught historian, he loved researching and sharing stories about the past—a hobby that brought him great joy and fostered connections with others who shared his enthusiasm. Robert was also deeply committed to his Christian faith.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra, and their three children: Jennifer Merrill, Lea Kirkpatrick (Vic), and Robert Logston (Patricia). He was the grandfather of six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held for family members. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Anne and Donald McGraw Center for Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida, in Robert’s name.
