Robert “Robbie” Sweat, beloved son, brother, musician, and friend, passed away in Jacksonville, Florida on December 4, 2025, at the age of 56. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Sweat Jr., and his beloved grandparents.

Born on March 28, 1969, Robbie was a graduate of Jacksonville University and a gifted bass guitarist whose passion for music shaped his life. He performed with the legendary Southern rock band Molly Hatchet, along with many well-known local bands throughout the years. Music was central to who Robbie was, and he deeply valued the connections he made with fellow musicians.

Robbie was known for his originality, sharp wit, and insatiable curiosity. He loved nature, reptiles, and especially snakes, finding beauty in the wild and the uncommon. His presence was unforgettable, and his stories, laughter, and music left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Janice Sweat; his brother; extended family; and many friends and fellow musicians.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Hibernia Baptist Church.
