Scott Thomas Wood, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on Monday, August 4, at the age of 61.
Born on September 22, 1963, to parents Beverly Terrell Wood and Donald Strait Wood, Scott spent most of his life working in the sheet metal and construction industries. He was employed at Thermal Acoustics Corporation and Bellingham Marine, and worked alongside his brother, Mark, at Able Products for many years.
His hobbies included: skateboarding, playing chess, watching Jeopardy, and making others laugh. He also ran solo, doing weekly trips to collect goodies to share with his family and friends.
A deeply adventurous soul, Scott cared for everyone around him. He will truly be missed and thought of fondly, and the stories he left behind will be remembered.
Scott was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister Linda Ann Wood, and his very best friend, Michael Brooks, who passed away on 7/9/2025. He is survived by his son, Christopher Wood; his stepdaughter, Alora Chambers; his brother, Mark Wood, and his wife, Tammy Wood; his sister, Patty(Rocket) Wood Rogero, and her husband, David Rogero; his sister, Kathy Wood; his sister, Susan Wood Ferguson, and her husband, Keith Ferguson; his brother, Jimmy Wood; his brother, Ricky Wood; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who all loved him dearly.
In his memory, Scott requested that everyone play "Kashmir" by Led Zeppelin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Stroke Association.
A celebration of Scott’s life is being planned, and the date will be provided soon.
