Sharon "Sherri" Eileen Labay ,72, of Jacksonville Florida, passed away on September 19th, 2026.

Sherri was born on September 24, 1953, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to Merriman and Jeanette Williams. She was raised with love by her Aunt Harriett and Uncle Marvin Hartline, whom she fondly knew as Mom and Dad.

A passionate dog lover, Sherri had a special fondness for Great Danes. She loved '60s and '70s music—especially Elvis Presley—and delighted in singing out loud for everyone to hear. Those who knew Sherri often said she had nine lives. Even during her remission from lung cancer, she remained true to herself and continued to enjoy her cigarettes to the end.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Labay, as well as her beloved dogs: her poodle, Jack, and her Great Danes, Annie, Angel, Pharaoh, Ripley, Brody, Beauty, Sultan, and her most adored, Isabow.

Sherri is survived by her son Ray and his wife, Theresa Ashley; her daughter, Renee Ashley; her five grandchildren, Anthony Ashley, Csharli Klatt, Ashli Clark, Amber Noell, and James Clark; her four great-grandchildren, Branson Clark, Brodey Klatt, Aaron Ashley, and Braelyn Klatt; stepson Larry Labay Jr.; stepdaughter Amanda Labay; and sisters Karen Head and Deb Adams.

Sherri also leaves behind her cherished friend of 60 years, Rita Trail, along with many dear friends, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
