It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sherry Lynn Riddle-Hughes, who departed this life on December 26, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 72. Sherry was a cherished mother, educator, friend, colleague, and a remarkable individual who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Born on March 3, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Eugene and Patsy Riddle, Sherry lived a life filled with love, kindness, and generosity. She was known for her unwavering dedication to her family, her students, and her adored furry friends. A true lover of nature, Sherry found deep joy in long walks along the beach and collecting seashells. She brought warmth, laughter, and compassion, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Sherry is survived by her son, Chad; daughter, Melissa; and grandchildren Nicole, Cody, Haley, Cassidy, and Michael. She will be remembered for her generous heart and her advocacy for animal welfare. In keeping with her passion, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local humane society in her memory.

Sherry will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the many hearts she touched. May she find eternal peace and sanctuary in the sound of ocean waves as she is reunited with her mother, father, grandparents, and her furry best friend, Duke.
