Timothy “Tim” Lee Stoinoff, 74, a longtime resident of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2025.
Tim was born to Robert Ralph Stoinoff and Eveline Hartley (Stoinoff) on May 16, 1951, in Norfolk, Virginia.
Tim was part of the graduating class of Lee High School in 1969, where he played baseball and football. Shortly after graduating from high school, Tim chose to serve his country and joined the United States Air Force. He was Security Police, K9 from 1970-1974. After leaving the Air Force Tim worked at the Jacksonville shipyard for several years, before he found a home working with the United States Postal service for 28 years.
Tim is survived by his sons, Andrew (Lorie) Stoinoff, Daniel (Kristen) Stoinoff, Five grandchildren, Cierra, Cameron, Coby and Emma, Claire and two great grandchildren Keirra and Ryleigh. Brothers Rob Stoinoff (California) and Jeff Stoinoff (Arkansas). Also included are many nieces and nephews along with extended family.
Tim had many hobbies and past times, which included golfing, fishing, fantasy football, and an unwavering desire to create the next invention that would revolutionize society. Tim was also an avid Word Search and Cross word puzzle aficionado, who would spend hours amusing himself.
Tim will be remembered as an amazing and endearing father, who would do anything he could for his sons, to better their lives. Tim will also be remembered as an extremely loving father-in-law, who enjoyed nothing more than sitting down and seeing how life was treating them and challenging them to the occasional game of Rummy or Monopoly (with Tim’s rules). Tim also adored and spoiled his grandchildren and was extremely proud to see them grow and reach the goals they set for themselves. Feeling as if he helped them out along the way to achieving their current state of being. Tim also exemplified what it meant to be a loving great grandfather to his two great grandchildren. Nothing made Tim happier than seeing all his family and extended family together as he sat back and marveled at what he had unknowingly accomplished by being placed on this earth. Finally, Tim will be remembered as fiercely kind, loving, and loyal friend to his second family at the United States Post Office.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on November 20, 2025, at 2PM. Officiating the ceremony will be his beloved niece, Sarah Byrd.
