On March 7, 2023, Tyrone Guy Fontenot passed away at the age of 70. Tyrone was born to John B. Fontenot and Lucile Mae Grace Fontenot (Duplechin) July 6, 1952. In the mid 70’s he married Barbra Lou Seiley and had four children: Anthony, Chantelle, John, and Andrea. Later he married Kathy English, who gave him two more children: Patrick and Nicholas.

He worked all his life as a journeyman painter, insulator, and blaster.  From pipe lines, ships, planes, and more.  He knew his trade inside and out.  He was the kind of man that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed one, but a bear if you crossed him.  He loved hunting since he was little, loved Blue Bell ice cream, was an avid gardener, and carpenter.  He made sure we knew our great-grandmothers and other relatives from both sides of the family tree.  He knew how to tell a story and a joke like a pro.

Tyrone was a Marine through and through.  He served during the end of the Vietnam war.  As much as he would say he was done with someone, he would always give them a second, third, or even fourth chance to right their wrong.  He never gave up on all his children no matter how much they hurt him.

He is survived by his brother Ronald and sister Ramona. Six children, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
