Obituary

With hearts full of love, gratitude, and celebration, we honor the life of William J. Moore Sr., a devoted husband, father, son, and man of unwavering faith, who courageously fought cancer with every ounce of strength, determination, and will he possessed. His battle reflected the way he lived — boldly, faithfully, and surrounded by love.

He was the proud and loving father of five children: Billy Moore and daughter-in-law Courtney Moore, and cherished grandson Delsin; daughter Evita Griffin and son-in-law Ryley Griffin; daughter Mary Grace Moore; son John Moore; and son Mark Moore. Being a father was one of his greatest joys, and his legacy continues through the lives, values, and strength of his children.

He is survived by his beloved spouse, Jennifer Moore, his partner in life, faith, and love.

Just over a month before his passing, he lost his father, Harvey “Harv” Moore — his rock, mentor, and hero. Their bond was deep and steadfast, and the love and guidance Harv gave him shaped the man, father, and believer he became. It brings comfort to know they are reunited once again.

William is remembered with unwavering love by his mother, Vicki Moore who always called him Billy Joe.

He leaves behind sisters Dana Moore (Bart Robinson) and Peggy Moore Maiorello (Michael); brother David Moore (Olga); and Aunt Mary Ann Dowd; as well as many extended family members and friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

He found joy in sharing his faith and love of Jesus, lifting others through his words and example. He loved music, spirited football Sundays, and cheering passionately for the Buffalo Bills and Atlanta Falcons. His energy, laughter, and conviction left a lasting impression.

Though cancer challenged his body, it never conquered his spirit. He fought with courage, resilience, and unwavering faith until the very end, leaving behind a powerful testimony of perseverance, love, and trust in God’s promises.

His life was a testimony. His faith was his anchor. His love is his legacy.

There will be a celebration of life/funeral mass on Saturday, February 14th, at 11:00am with a reception to follow at San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church.
